1. DO NOT  use the telephone, turn on or off light switches, or light matches anywhere inside or near the home or building
2. DO NOT attempt to find a leak, repair the appliance, or light the pilot light
3. DO get everyone out of the home and away from newarby areas
4. DO shut off the service valve that is usually located in the middle of the supply tank if possible
5. DO call your service company (Dakota Plains Cooperative) and make sure they have all the necessary information, such as your name and address
